Andrew Outhwaite is an award-winning entrepreneur who leads ventures and convenes alliances that deliver beneficial social and ecological outcomes. Called to contribute to global sustainable development goals through innovation and on-ground action, Andrew has instigated and grown: social enterprises, innovation hubs, industry associations and collective-impact alliances.
In 2019, after 15 years of working with industry, government and communities in Europe, Asia and regional Australia, Andrew published research that defined the challenges and opportunities facing nations bordering the Indian Ocean. The positive reception led to the founding of For Blue to shift our culture of caring for the ocean, and deliver on the mission of enriching ocean health and human wealth together, forever.
To date (April 2025), For Blue more than 3,269 individuals have participated in For Blue initiatives, 123 ventures have received formal Diagnosis reports, 51 commercial clients have benefitted from a 20x ROI and aggregate $6.5M of attributable increase in valuation and For Blue has donated 2% of revenues to ocean health charities.
Contributing to Western Australia being leading blue economy in the region For Blue has initiated the annual: Engineering Ocean Solutions (forum), BioInnovation Festival and Blue Gravity (program). Most recently For Blue has spun out a new charity, Blue Assembly, an alliance of leading ocean institutions focused on effective ocean governance. For Blue continues to grow stronger connections to Australian, NZ, Singaporean ecosystems, and particularly with Indonesian partners, investors and ventures.
Beyond his work within ventures he's founded or is leading, Andrew is a professional presenter having facilitated or presented more than 750 sessions drawing on his qualifications and extensive experience in: innovation and investment, marine science and sustainability, and mindfulness and martial arts.
While his current focus is orchestrating peaceful victories with those fighting for healthy oceans, previous topics include: market entry strategies for innovators, ocean impact investment market analysis for philanthropists, innovation ecosystem evolution dynamics for academics, healthy masculine expression for festival participants, and training leaders in principles and practices for being effortlessly effective in fluid situations.
